Niantic debuts “Where I’m From” content series featuring Jalen Green
Niantic today debuted the first episode of the NBA All-World “Where I’m From” content series, which you can watch here. In the episode, Jalen Green from the Houston Rockets shares what shaped his journey to the NBA while giving viewers an inside look at his personal music and fashion tastes. Immanuel Quickley of the New York Knicks will be featured in the second episode, as Niantic continues bringing fans closer to NBA culture.
“NBA All-World ties together basketball, fashion, culture, and travel and that’s what makes it unique,” said Jalen Green, who plays guard for the Houston Rockets and was named All-Rookie First Team last year. “I’ve had a nontraditional journey to the NBA and I’m happy to share the story of where I’m from and have players get to learn more about the places that matter most to me.”
The show’s host and co-producer is Set Free Richardson, a Cannes Lion award winner and Executive Producer / Director for ESPN 30 for 30 The Greatest Mixtape ever.
“Free is a world-class creative, and he understands the culture of basketball and all of its lifestyle elements,” said Glenn Chin, senior director of marketing at Niantic. “I think fans are going to really dig this content series, seeing NBA players in candid conversations sharing insights they’ve never shared publicly before.”
“It was a blast producing ‘Where I’m From’ with Glenn and the NBA All-World team at Niantic,” said Set Free Richardson, producer of the series. “We share a love for basketball, music, fashion and culture. So when they tapped me to sit down with some of the biggest NBA players of today to get their stories in a fresh light, it felt like a natural evolution of the stories I’ve produced before dating back to my And1 Mixtape days.”
NBA All-World launched globally on Jan. 24 this year and is an officially licensed geolocation basketball game where players can find, challenge, and compete against today’s NBA ballers in their neighborhoods, then recruit them to their team before proving themselves on the court. NBA All-World extends the world of basketball into new augmented reality territory and is free to play globally & is currently the #1 Sports game in the Apple App Store.
